SMART file on D2L

I will post the biodiversity SMART file under news in our D2L shell.  Remember, in order to open a SMART file at home, you need to go into the Cougar Community shell on D2L then scroll down (way down) to March or May of 2012 to see the instructions that Mr. Moses wrote.

Hope this helps with your prep...

Lots on the go...

PARTY forms...first come; first serve.  First 55 forms into the office will have a chance to go to Foothills.

Science quiz tomorrow.  Textbook is on D2L under Cougar Community...make sure you can answer topic 1 & 2 review questions.  All questions will be scenario based so ensure that you are making big connections like we do in class discussions.

Math check in on Friday...3D composite shapes...rectangular prisms & cylinders only.

D2L malfunction at the junction

Mr. Perritt and I have identified the problem on D2L with the online textbooks...we will sort it out tomorrow.

Please solve the double cylinder question for tomorrow.  If the graphic organizer from today is helpful, great...please use it!!  Remember, you have a Math check in on composite surface area on Friday.  Nothing major...just a couple of questions to work through.

Science quiz is Thursday...ensure that you are reviewing your notes & making those big connections. If you didn't come to class with your web done, you missed a bunch of feedback & missed the opportunity to hear the perspectives of others.  Think about that awesome audio lice clip that we listened to today in class (from CBC) and think about all the connections already to our curriculum...so awesome!!!

Today in Science we started some notes on biodiversity.  What is it?  What does it look like?

In Math, we reviewed line symmetry & pushed into rotational symmetry.

Please get your forms & fees into the school...thanks.

If you have your old Hum journal, please rip out the papers so you can use it for Science this year...thanks.

Math & Science checking in

Hi Everybody,

Awesome work today in Math & Science. Please take a look at the biodiversity intro activity feedback that you received on your rubrics & think about where you would like to move toward this year. I thought your feedback was insightful & constructive.

We introduced the concepts of line symmetry today in Math. A copy of my SMART file was given with examples. Take a moment to draw in the lines of symmetry that you can see. We will review them tomorrow & push forward.

Remember to bring in your forms asap to Ms. Young-Davis.

Please ensure that you have the Hilroy notebooks for Math & I will work towards trying to get visual journals for you for Science. In the meantime, no loose paper in Science or Math please. You need a glue stick in your pencil cases.

Thanks for the great start up...it has been so smooth! What an awesome group!
